Spring Blooms With Kuretake

A new challenge is up over on the Kuretake Blog and it's one to remind us that spring is here (believe it or not!)
The challenge is to create flowers, so here is my card

I used a mixture of the Calligraphy pens and Brushable pens to create some of the flowers on this card.  I love the way that you can blend the pens together to create unique colours and shades to your petals.

Here is a step by step which hopefully shows you one of the many styles of flowers you can achieve.

To blend the pens together, hold one pen upright and then gently 'kiss' the other colour on top.  The colour will drain into the one below.  Repeat on the other side if required.

To create a circular flower place the pen flat on the paper and then twist the paper around, still holding the pen on the paper, until a circle is formed.  Cut out if desired to add as an embellishment and decorate with bling :)

For the 3D rose, take a Basically Bare chipboard flower and gently move between your fingers to break down the fibres.  Don't worry if creases appear as this will add an effect to the petals.

Cut a spiral in the flower.  If the chipboard starts to split then separate to create a two flowers.

Roll up from the outside in and secure with glue.

Colour as desired. Here I have coloured with some pink kurecolor and some pearl glimmer mist.

Hope you are inspired to have a go at the challenge, you'll have heaps of fun I am sure.
Thanks for stopping by :)
